Instagram Launch | Social Media Strategy & Design

Role: Marketing Coordinator
Tools Used: Canva, Hootsuite, Instagram
Company: Business Development Resources (BDR)

Overview

When I joined Business Development Resources, the team was considering launching a new Instagram presence. My role was to research, plan, and prepare everything we needed so that once leadership approved the launch, we could roll out quickly and with clear direction.

My focus was to build a foundation that supported long-term engagement, brand consistency, and community growth on the platform.

Process
Strategy and Planning

I conducted research to inform how BDR could show up on Instagram effectively, including:

• Content themes and graphic styles
• Hashtag and tagging strategy
• Posting frequency and scheduling
• Follower acquisition tactics
• Launch timeline and content calendar
• Handle selection and brand alignment

I developed a full business plan and timeline that outlined what was needed prior to launch and what success would look like in the first year.

Content Creation

Leading up to launch, I designed multiple types of Instagram graphics using Canva and scheduled content through Hootsuite. These included promotional posts, educational value pieces, and branded engagement content.

I also designed a custom launch hype grid to build anticipation visually before the account officially went live. This allowed us to activate the profile early while still maintaining a clean and cohesive look for launch day.

Results and Reflection

Our goal was to reach 100 followers by the end of the year. The Marketing Team exceeded this goal much faster than expected. By the end of the first quarter, we had already surpassed 100 followers.

This project helped me understand the strategy behind building a new social presence from the ground up. I learned how effective planning, scheduling, and clear brand direction can accelerate community growth even in the early stages of an account.
