Branding & Identity — Nook Needs

Project Type: Brand Identity Design
Role: Brand Designer

Overview

When I launched Nook Needs, I built the brand from zero. No existing direction, no guidelines, nothing to go off of. I developed the full brand identity including the logo, color palette, typography, and layout standards, then applied all of it across the website, social, and marketing campaigns. The goal was to create something cohesive enough that customers could recognize the brand no matter where they saw it.

Responsibilities

  • Defined core visual identity elements including typography, color palette, layout direction, and brand standards.
  • Built structured brand guidelines to ensure consistent implementation across web, social, and promotional assets.
  • Designed branded marketing visuals aligned with established identity standards to support cohesive campaign execution.
  • Applied the identity system across digital platforms, ensuring recognizable and unified brand presentation.
  • Adapted brand visuals for campaign moments (e.g., Pride Month) while maintaining alignment with overall brand standards.
  • Organized brand assets to support efficient reuse and scalable growth.

Deliverables

  • Brand identity system
  • Typography and color standards
  • Branded digital marketing assets

Tools

Outcome

The brand identity system became the foundation for everything Nook Needs put out. Consistent application across web, social, email, and promotions helped build trust with new customers and supported the business in growing to 500+ monthly visitors and $3,000 in monthly revenue.
