Quick Photo Composite & On-Site Client Collaboration

Background/Context

Role: Head Digital Artist & Retouching Specialist
Tools Used: Photoshop
Company: Omega Photo

Overview

This project was a quick compositing request for a returning client I work with regularly. The client brought in a photo taken during their travels and wanted a specific edit made to the image while working with me in person. Because we already had an established working relationship, communication was clear and efficient from the start.

Process

In-Person Collaboration and Planning

The client shared the travel photo and explained that they wanted the scarf they were wearing on their head added into the image.

They intentionally wore the same outfit during our meeting, which made it easier to match fabric, lighting, and perspective. While we were together, I took a quick portrait of them so I could accurately composite the scarf into the original image and clarify details immediately if needed.

Compositing and Execution

Using the reference portrait, I masked and blended the scarf into the travel photo, making sure it looked natural and consistent with the original lighting and angle. Because the client was present, I was able to make adjustments in real time and confirm they were happy with the direction as I worked.

Results and Reflection

The client was impressed with how quickly the edit was completed and appreciated being able to collaborate in person throughout the process. This project highlights my ability to work efficiently, communicate clearly with repeat clients, and deliver polished results on short turnaround timelines.

It also reinforces the value of trust and preparation when working directly with clients, especially on quick but detail-oriented edits.
